National Media Competition Results 2020 I am delighted to announce the results of the Media Magazine National Media Production Competition for 2020. Over 130 film and video entries from schools and sixth form colleges around the country were submitted, including from Latymer's Media Department. We did it! Thank you so much to everyone who nominated the Latymer Foundation at the recent Movement for Good awards - we are one of the 500 charities which will receive £1,000 each!!

Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts, with 500 gifts of £1,000 available for donation. 13,695 charities were nominated by an amazing 253,879 members of the public.

Eighty years ago this week, a group of 89 Latymerians plus their younger siblings and seven teachers were evacuated to the village of Mawnan Smith, near Falmouth in Cornwall, with science master Percy Blackwell as the group’s leader. It was later referred to as “the happiest of evacuations” with one evacuee recalling that he thought he’d “died and gone to heaven”, arriving from the war-torn streets of Edmonton to the peaceful, wildflower-fringed lanes of Cornwall in early summer.
